IIH

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension shortened to IIH is a neurological condition where there is increased pressure in the fluid around the spine and brain, this is the cerebrospinal fluid shortened to CSF. 

Idiopathic in the name means there is no known cause and although anyone can get it, it does occur more often in women of child wearing age and those who are overweight. 

The main symptoms are headaches and vision loss among many others.

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia shortened to FMS is a long term condition causing over body pain, it also gives extreme fatigue, problems with concentration and sleeping difficulties plus more.

There is no cure and the cause is unknown but effects more women aged 30 to 50. Treatment if any consist of lifestyle changes, CBT, painkillers and anti-depressants.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by a rheumatologist in 2013

FND

Functional Neurological Disorder shortened to FND are neurological symptoms like weakness of the limb, tremors, bladder or swallow issues, it can be an issue with any function caused by the brain where it glitches sending the signal to the right area.

Pain, anxiety and trauma are thought to be 3 factors relating to getting FND but you don't need to have any of these to get it.

Treatment should involve neuro-physiotherapist and psychotherapy but this is very limited.

NEAD

None Epileptic Attack Disorder shortened to NEAD are when there is a temporary loss of control between the body and mind where the signals glitch and don't get through.

It can often look like an epileptic seizures in its many forms but NEAD themselves are not dangerous it's the environmental hazards to be mindful of.

NEAD can effect anyone but is thought to effect those more who "carry on" as it's believe an unconscious level of pressure builds up and releases in this form.

Treatment involves working with a psychiatrist and working on lifestyle.

Migraine

Migraines are moderate to severe headaches which at worse can result is slurred speech, confusion, blurred vision, seizures, weakness and temporary paralysis.

Anyone can develop migraines but it is more common in women and they do effect your normal day to day life.

There is no cure but treatments are offered from painkillers, anti sickness medication, triptans to help reverse the changes in the brain when an attack starts to Botox and newer injections as preventatives.

Asthma

Asthma is a lung condition that causes occasional breathing difficulties. It can lead to wheezing, coughing, feeling tight chested and breathlessness.

It effects people of all ages, starting in childhood as well as in adults.

Asthma doesn't have a cure but there are both preventative and treatment inhalers. This does not stop attacks though so learning your triggers and hospital treatment is sometimes required.
